Anvil's Travels

The National Skills Show 2000 - Birmingham NEC

Anvil was supposed to battle 'Gow Chundoy' (the Navy robot) daily, but as the arena was 3M x 6M and built from light alloy and plastic we settled for a driving display with a battle in the car park on the last day.

RAF Kinloss Families Day

A quiet day. Anvil had a static display and a few demo runs, the damaged axle was still a major problem.

HMS Collingwood Field Gun Day

A most enjoyable few days battling. Anvil II's first public appearance.

Round 1 Sub Version1 Win Judges Decision
Semi Final GooRoo Loss Fought twice as the first battle was a draw. We lost the second battle on a judges decision.
Final Bigger Brother Loss We happily stood in for GooRoo who had control problems. Anvil got flipped out of the arena in 18 seconds, we had to fight again as the film crew for 'Robot's Revenge' blinked and missed it. The second attempt was better (and longer), but we were outclassed by BB.
So new and shiny, didn't stay like that for long Sub Version 1, a great robot and a great team, in the true spirit of Robot Wars MegaHurts, our old rivals Roger M.E. another Navy team, how many do they have?
Our First Trophy
A Four way frenzy between Anvil, Megahurts, DanTomKia and Bigger Brother Anvil and Subversion meet for the first time Big Brother 2, resting between battles Anvil snags a sandbag while GooRoo walks all over us

International Festival of the Sea

A four day display featuring an obstacle course. Anvil was the fastest on three of the four days.

Robot Wars Extreme

Armed Forces Mayhem

A single battle between Anvil, Megahurtz and Rhino. Anvil suffered from very bad interference and poor R/C reception throughout the fight, the editing crew for the show did well to find some tape of us moving.
We attacked Rhino's tracks as it was the only thing we could do. A judges decision gave the victory to us despite ending up in the pits with the other two robots. We got Rhino's track off too! :)
